  • Position Overview/Summary

    Provides leadership in Quality management (Quality Control & Assurance) for fabricated equipment, vessels, heat exchangers, air cooled heat exchanger, structural skids, supports & other fabricated bought-outs, piping components & piping valves etc. and delivery of entire equipment package.

     

    Reduce cycle time & maintain company Quality standard by reducing cost of Quality.

    Position will be responsible for providing the day-to-day support for the appraisal and disposition of non-conforming material. This includes initiating and leading quality improvement activities for both in-plant and external suppliers.   

    To demonstrate welding expertise and related technical support to Dresser-Rand on all welding related job including Pressure vessels, Heat Exchangers, NDE, material and metallurgical laboratory.

    Provides leadership of the business unit’s quality team, including developing, implementing and maintaining effective quality standards, systems and processes. Ability to resolve Quality issues, Provides the internal leadership and guidance for ISO 9001 compliance.

    Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

    • Bachelors in Mechanical or Fabrication Engineering or equivalent experience
    • A minimum of 5 years in a Quality Control / Assurance Supervisor position within a technology organization, preferably within Oil & Gas industry.
    • CWI certification /AWS Certification
    • Familiar with ISO management system, MIGAS certification, AWS, ASME, ASTM, API and other industrial codes.
    • Special projects, technical skills, or certifications : CWI certification /AWS Certification, Fabrication, Knowledge of ASME sec-VIII Div-1& 2, ASME Section IX, API 614, API 661 & TEMA, NDE L-II in RT,PT,MT,UT & VT as ASNT–TC-1A
    • Experience in preparing WPS-PQR for carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex steel, Nickle alloys, cuponical materials

     

    Other Qualifications/Skills:

    • Good organization skills including time management, good file and record organization and report writing.

    • Good communication skills, Advance English skills

    • Understanding and defining client needs is paramount.

    • Ability to work flexible scheduling to meet business needs.

    • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project.

    • Ability to facilitate cross functional teams through process development activities

    • Ability to travel as required, upwards of 50% of the time

    • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methodologies.

    • RCA / Six Sigma methodologies.

    Position Responsibilities and Duties

    • To ensure that all Quality Control procedures and work instructions are in practice in his area.
    • Supplier Assessment & Supplier Inspection: Develop program, conduct regular qualification/re-qualification and audit of our Welding, Coating, NDE and Mat Lab. This will include Vendor qualification and performance. Conduct RCA, manage proper records.
    • Authorized and accountable to develop, review, testing, qualify, Approval of Inspection Test Plan for Fabricated items
    • Pressure vessel & Heat exchanger & Air cooled Heat exchangers inspection as per ASME/API Code.
    • Weld procedure Qualification & review of weld plan as per drawings.
    • Supplier Stage Inspection with client/designated TPI
    • Authorized and accountable to develop, review, testing, qualify, Approval of WPS-PQR /WPQ & NDE procedures as per client /code requirement.
    • Inspection of piping component like flanges, fittings & pipes, reducers, piping valves-Gate/Globe/Check/Ball etc. and stores receipt Inspection.
    • Witness of NDE – RT, PT, UT, MT, VT & Final inspection of vessels & Heat exchangers & other fabricated bought out items
    • Corrective & Preventive Actions for Quality issues
    • Prepare checklist for inspection activities & Inspection as per D-R standards, Drawings and related specification
    • Reading and Preparation of Package Engineering drawings like P&I Diagram, General Arrangement, Foundation Plan, piping plan and piping isometric drawings.
    • Conduct Welding inspection, material analysis, metallurgical test and NDE on certain basis.
    • Keep up-to-date, optimize welding processes, plan for strategic improvements, and maximize company profitability.
    • Work with Welding & Coating team to develop regular maintenance and inspections on the equipment and material

     

    • Maintain the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification
    • Dive the RCA investigation of Quality incidents.
    • Manage MQI (Major Quality Incident) resolutions.
    • Provides client quality assurance for products and services and assist in assuring the achievement at the optimum quality costs.
    • Provide the development of quality, inspection planning, monitoring of supplier and internal manufacturing processes.
    • Execute data analysis and reporting from the inspection and monitoring processes.
    • Responsible for the Quality Management System and Quality Manual.
    • Approve the supplier quality files in accordance with contract quality plan.Prepare and submit quality certification to clients.
    • Participate in internal and external client inspections. Participate in quality intercompany meetings.
    • Treat the deviations of the technical specifications along with engineering and operations.
    • Critical analysis of technical specifications with buyers before sending to suppliers and ensure suppliers understanding.
    • Participate in kick off meetings with suppliers for critical items.
    • Coordinates all quality and continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing.
