  • Position Overview/Summary

    This position is responsible for systematic problem solving / investigative analysis of Electrical & Instrumentation engineering aspects of Site/Plant Issues, related to testing and performance of reciprocating gas compressor package, including Main Motor, Aux Motors, PT / TT / PCV / TCV, PLC Programing and controls.

    Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

    Education & Experience:

     

    Educational Qualification: B.E. (Instrumentation / Electricals) with 20+ Years of experience in engineering. At least 10+ years in compressor package electrical & instrumentation engineering

     

     

    preferable:

    • Vast experience of electrical and instrumentation engineering for reciprocating gas compressor.
    • Thorough knowledge of electrical and instrumentation engineering processes / standards / guidelines.
    • Hands on experience of problem solving / site support for compressor installation and commissioning.
    • Lead / Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2008, demonstrated auditing skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills. Should be able to interact with domestic and international clients.
    • Should have broad experience of documentation and presentation of electrical and instrumentation engineering investigations.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification will be an added advantage.

    Position Responsibilities and Duties

    • Develop and Implement processes related to fast response on electrical and instrumentation engineering aspects for client / site issues.
    • Verify and Validate basic electrical and instrumentation engineering aspects related to motor design, P&ID, Instrumentation and controls.
    • Lead and Implement immediate containment actions of observed non-conformance from Site Issues RCA related to electrical and instrumentation engineering.
    • Lead actions related to verification of probable causes related to electrical and instrumentation engineering during the course of root cause analysis and visit sites as required for investigations.
    • Bring various alternative solutions to solve and fix site issues to client satisfaction and help maintain client confidence in Dresser Rand / Siemens products.
    • Lead the preparation, Review, Release and documentation of instrumentation engineering memos, for permanent corrective and preventive actions from RCAs.
    • Coordinate with various investigative agencies, OEM for analytical supports required for root cause analysis and driving permanent corrective and preventive actions. Analyze SKADA charts and operating performance data from site and review its conformance to agreed design conditions from contract.
    • Lead the change management and instrumentation engineering documentation (Like P&ID, Hook Ups), based on RCA, this involves, updating instrumentation engineering checklists, drawing improvements, developing SOP / Procedures / Guidelines required for the PCPA (Permanent Corrective and Preventive Actions)
    • Lead and Drive RCA for various lessons learnt and issues observed during instrumentation engineering processes and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions in instrumentation engineering processes.
    • Monitor and Review instrumentation engineering FPY for Drawing / calculations errors and Drive RCAs for major and recurring issues. Monitor the satisfactory implementation of permanent corrective and preventive actions for instrumentation engineering functions on periodic basis.
    • Support the site team on instrumentation engineering, during installation and commissioning of the compressor package at site and primary teething issues observed during warranty period of the compressor package.
