  • Position Overview/Summary

    Getting involved during Packaging activities at works and subsequently responsible for Erection and Commissioning activities related to Instrumentation and Controls of Compressor Packages at customer sites. Responsible till warranty of the equipment has expired or proper hand over to Product Service team is completed.

    Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

    Education & Experience:

     

    Diploma / Degree in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering with at least 5-10 years working experience in PLC Panel or Field Instrumentation manufacturing company supplying products to Oil and Gas Industry.

     

     

    Addition Skills preferable:

    • Hands on experience of the I & C of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.
    • Operational knowledge of Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressors.
    • Site working experience with Oil and Gas Industry
    • Working knowledge of industry standards, such as API, etc.
    • Understanding and working with highest safety standards.
    • Knowledge of equipment installation and testing practices.
    • Proficiency in the application of computerized systems, including standard business applications (i.e. MS Office)
    • Effective verbal and written communications skills
    • Demonstrated organizational skills
    • Strong bias for following processes and continual process improvement
    • Strong sense of time urgency for critical-path project items, milestones, and key project deliverables

    Position Responsibilities and Duties

    • Hands on experience on installation and troubleshooting of various field Instruments and PLC Control Panels

    • Ability to conduct Cold and Hot loop checks and logic checks independently based on Engineering documents.

    • Responsible for preparation of Site Schedule for various activities related to Instrument and Controls along with PM for each Project

    • Ability of interpret and understand various Engineer documents like Piping & Instrumentation Diagram, Operation Philosophy , Cause & Effect, Junction Box and Cable Schedule, Hook Up Drawing and Panel documents.

    • Understand the Project requirements related to Instrumentation and Controls prior to dispatch of the equipment from works.

    • Visit to various Customer sites for Instruments and Controls related requirement adhering to the required Safety norms of Customer and Siemens.

    • Coordination with the various Field Instrument and Panel component supplier and ability to resolve site issues with their assistance if needed

    • Understanding of Codes related to instrumentation and controls

    • Good written and verbal communication skill with customer, supplier and with the head office team as needed.Ability to modify the PLC program at site as per requirement of Engineering if needed.

    •  Preparation of job specific training document related to Instrumentation and Controls and imparting training to Customer representative at plant or Customer site.
    • Arrange material from Supplier or internally to overcome site requirements or discrepancies.

    • Provide inputs to Project Manager for additional service or material required by Client in order to additional scope via Contract Change Authorizations (CCA), upselling D-R products and services, as per site requirements of customer.
    • Update site progress as per prescribed formats and systems.
    • Conduct lessons learnt for the project installation and commissioning related to Instrumentation and Controls
    • Ability to provide necessary technical details as needed for conducting RCA Analysis and liaison with IOP team for quick turnaround of RCA.
    • Extensive travel to sites sometimes with a short notice.
    • Turn Key project may require deputation at Customer sites for extended duration.
