Position Overview/Summary

The Cost Analyst will be responsible to assist both Advanced and Standard Business organizations with development of cost models for supplied equipment.  They will exercise judgment in making model selections and adaptations for alternatives.  This role will support the development of cost estimating and market benchmark pricing tools for use internal to the cost group as well as in use of the advanced and standard businesses.  The cost analyst will assist the review and maintenance of cost estimating tools and templates. 



This role will require close collaboration with PG DR Supply Chain, PG DR Operations, TCP Engineering, and TCP Finance to obtain estimates for material, hours to compile cost estimates.  These interactions will be across various reporting levels including managers and individual contributors in addition to the executive leadership at the assigned manufacturing plant. 

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Experience in the cost estimating field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivation to find efficient and effective ways to accomplish end goals
  • Ability to multitask and work under time constraints to meet deadlines


  • Oracle experience
  • Programming experience
  • Manufacturing experience and a cost accounting understanding
  • Familiarity with Citrix and D-R legacy BOM systems

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support TCP efforts to develop new estimating tools and templates
  • Drive Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operation’s review and update of costs in the estimating tools and templates
  • Review marketing cost requests, interpret scope and build estimates using in-house templates
  • Calculate a complete and accurate cost of components and assemblies including machine, weld assembly and test hours, engineering, and overhead
  • Work with marketing and sales to produce multiple cost estimate iterations to reduce overall costs on individual projects
  • Develop, create, and monitor model selections of configurations
  • Develop and issue target costs for booked orders
  • Participate in the project phase gate process including order capture review, budget reviews, and lesson learned
  • Work to develop costing methodology to set price guidelines for E-Catalog applications
  • Update global price list as needed
  • Special assignments as needed
