Position Overview/Summary

 

The Drafter/Digital Inspection Technician will be responsible for basic drafting functions as well as implementation, documentation and utilization of digital inspection methods including but not limited to: blue light scanning, laser scanning, digital contact probing(Romer/Faro Arms). These methods and tools will be used for incoming and final inspections and reverse engineering.

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

Required:

  • 2 Yr. Technical Degree or 5 years of experience in a similar role

 

  

Preferred:

 

  • Unigraphics experience, creation of models using digital points data, capture of electronic data using laser, white/blue light scanning or portable contact probing systemsKnowledge in the disassembly and re-assembly of steam turbines, centrifugal compressor(s), or reciprocating compressor(s) components.
  • Computer skills - Unigraphics, Polyworks, MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Position Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Create solid models and drawings using Unigraphics and other software applications
  • Capture digital data from components using digital inspection tools
  • Act as shop subject matter expert regarding digital inspections
  • Create and publish procedures utilizing digital inspection tools and processes
  • Assist with justifications for AFE’s to procure digital inspection equipment
  • 10-25% Domestic travel
