Position Overview/Summary

The Field Mechanic directly contributes and supports Field Operations through the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of rotating equipment. 



Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)


  • Must be able to solve assembly and set-up problems with minimal technical supervision.
  • Must be able to solve a vast array of technical challenges with minimal technical supervison
  • 5 years experience mechanical experience
  • Knowledge in the disassembly and re-assembly of rotating equipment.

  • Knowledge and ability to use standard inspection and precision measurement instruments and prepare actual reports and/or sketches of work performed.

  • Available to travel with little advance notice based on business needs and to work remotely as needed.




  • Extensive knowledge in the repair of one or more D-R and non D-R product lines (steam turbine, reciprocating compressors, gas compressor engines, or gas turbines).
  • Technical degree or equivalent
  • Possess effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate and familiarity with:  MS Office, MS Project and Outlook.
  • Knowledge with lubrication of rotating equipment.
  • Alignment of rotating and reciprocating equipment.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels.



Position Responsibilities and Duties

  • Promote safety and a safe working environment.
  • Work safely to adhere and uphold the safety rules of D-R and the Client, attend on site safety meetings, record and report safety incidents and issues.
  • Accurate recording of all as repaired dimensional data.
  • Assist leadman with proper and safe repair of  DR equipment.
  • Directly impact the field operations business through providing client billable man-hours in the field.
  • Submit accurate times sheets and expense reports on a weekly basis.
  • Encourage business growth, support the sales team as a technical advocate, and build quotes/proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned
