Position Overview/Summary

Responsible for providing "in-region" technical sales and sales support for assigned product including, but not limited to: opportunity identification, evaluation, and order capture with particular emphasis on large/complex engineered solutions.  As the expert for assigned region, provide solutions to potential customers in conjunction with the D-R Services Account Manager. Reports functionally to Regional Sales Director and strategically to the Business Unit.

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Possess and demonstrate a high degree of tact and professionalism along with an appropriate level of tenacity
  • Good organizational skills
  • Solid computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point)
  • Work collaboratively and individually with the same enthusiasm and intensity
  • Travel in order to provide proper perspective about the potential opportunities (40%)
  • Listen to customer needs, develop complex solutions and sell the benefits to the client
  • Develop complex solutions using repair and field service knowledge


  • Five years related experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Dresser-Rand's products and services (field service and repair background is preferred) 
  • Provide assistance to the emerging PMO Organization regarding I&C Opportunities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work safely following all corporate / local procedures and timely completion of all required safety training.
  • Develop comprehensive list of regional target customers and develop and execute sales strategies for each in conjunction with account managers.   Proactively develop new opportunities and leads.
  • Manage the sales funnel by timely documenting the life cycle of the opportunity and ensure all opportunities are properly entered into CRM - forecasted and tracked to closure.
  • Document all lost orders with a competitive analysis.
  • Interface with Operations, Region, and Client during O2O process (specific responsibility for accurate proposal development), order entry & execution, and after shipment follow-up. Thorough understanding of project scope and communication of requirements to D-RCS.
  • Identify technical and commercial project risks and develop mitigation plans ensuring successful outcome.
  • Train and educate the client facing team on new product offerings and technologies.
  • Provide voice of the client needs/competitive intelligence, market drivers and buying influences for the development of new product and service offerings.
  • Qualify opportunities through a selectivity process to determine bid strategy and solution.
  • Create and maintain an annual territory/bookings strategy/plan to meet/exceed a yr/yr AOP growth trend.
