Position Overview/Summary

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, this position is responsible for the disassembly, investigation, assembly, and repairing/adjustment of rotating equipment and/or related equipment such as pumps, valves, gears etc. It is a position that requires a greater degree of ‘hands-on’ activities together with leadership of the sub-contractors. This position supports all over South East Asia (SEA) and some assignments out of SEA. Technicians are expected to be away from home for up to 80% of the year.

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

Background and Skills

Min. Education: Vocational / Technical certificate; ‘O / A’ level

Min. Professional Experience: 7 years’ experience in industry

Major in: Millwright

In following qualifications: Mechanical / Electro-mechanical

Is Min. Education a Requirement? Yes      

Is Min. Prof. Experience a Requirement? Yes     

Other Experience, Training and Qualifications

Usage of Microsoft Office suites such as Outlook, Powerpoint, Word & Excel

Other Qualifications:

1

Rotating equipment experience a must:

o    Reciprocating compressor experience

o    Centrifugal compressor experience

o    Steam turbine experience

Working knowledge and understanding pf precision equipment

3

Basic experience with rigging equipment

4

Must be able to work with minimal direction

5

Willingness to travel 80% of time

6

Ability to routinely lift at least 25 pounds for up to 8 hours; ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically

7

Willingness and ability to work overtime and/or irregular hours

8

Willingness and ability to work in remote locations

9

Supervisor experience preferred

Position Responsibilities and Duties

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibility 1: Safety, Health and Environment

·         Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition

·         Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner

·         Complete all required safety training

·         Conduct a daily JSEA and report any safety concerns observed

Key Responsibility 2: Job Specific Requirements

·         Conduct mechanical overhauls and repairs of compressors, engines and other equipment (specifically an Reciprocating Compressors, Centrifugal  Compressors and Steam Turbines)

·         Equipment and Tooling:

o    Machine tools such as mills, drills, grinders and lathes for basic operations

o    All necessary hand tooling needed to perform and function including hand and powered industrial trucks, lifting, cranes and other material handling equipment

o    Measuring and aligning instruments

·         Act as liaison between the client, factories and engineering

·         Assist FSRs / Clients during new installation, commissioning and start up procedures

·         Develop equipment installation, maintenance and overhaul schedules with client’s input

·         As required, attend post job meetings with FSR, Client(s), Sales and Project Management

·         Good communication and accurate reporting
